Cleaning Tips

How to remove spots
caused by Spot

Sometimes even the best trained pet doesn't make it to the door – or litter box – on time. But if caught early, such stains are fairly easy to remove.

Use enzyme-based stain removers for best results

Do not use ammonia or ammonia-based products as these will actually attract the animal and he may be tempted to repeat his bad behavior. Products that use enzymes to eliminate pet stains and odor are very effective, but before applying one of these it is important to remove as much of the stain as you can.

Wet a clean cloth with water and rub the spot. Then, use a wet/dry vacuum or blot the area with absorbent towels to extract as much of the liquid as possible. Next, apply a quality enzyme product like SSS Bio-Enzymatic Spotter. The enzymes will literally eat the remaining residue on or beneath the surface, without harming your carpet. Once the product has broken down the stain, the enzymes will die because their food source (the stain) has been eliminated.
